How we choose

Every list on Lion City Lists is the editorial team’s pick based on our evaluation.

What a list weighs

Each ranking page sets out its own criteria, because what matters in a vet clinic is not what matters in an immigration consultant. The criteria come from what can be checked about the providers on that page: the public registers that apply to the trade, the providers’ own pages, whether they publish their fees, and the languages they work in. Where a page shows ticks and dashes beside an entry, each one is read from that entry’s own facts.

What an entry holds

Each entry gives the provider’s name, a line on whom it suits, a short write-up, a list of facts, and its contact details as plain text, with its registration number: for a business, its UEN as registered with ACRA; for a person, the number on the register that applies. Each fact carries its source and the date it was checked. Where a provider’s pages disagree with each other or with a register, the entry says what each one shows, or leaves the claim out.

How pages are kept up

Each page shows the date it was last updated. Facts are checked again every three months, and a provider that closes is taken off. Providers may write in about their entry; what they say is checked before anything changes.

What you will not find

No scores, no stars and no badges. Nothing in an entry links to a provider.
