Questions to settle first

What does a vet visit cost in Singapore? Two of the six publish a consultation fee on their own pages. Westside charges $180 for an emergency consultation and $280 on a public holiday, before treatment and tests, and asks for a 50% deposit of the first estimate before a pet is hospitalised. Mount Pleasant's Gelenggang clinic charges $120 plus GST for an urgent care consultation on weekday evenings from 8:20 pm. Ask for an estimate before any treatment begins.

Which vet clinics are open all night? Four of the six are open 24 hours: Companion Animal Surgery, Advanced VetCare's Bedok clinic, Beecroft and Westside. Mount Pleasant's Gelenggang clinic stays open until 11 pm on some days. Call ahead if you can: Westside asks for a call so that the team can prepare, and Companion Animal Surgery so that you wait less.

Does a vet clinic need a licence? Yes. AVS says a licence is required to operate premises as a veterinary clinic or hospital, and that the centre must be under the control and management of a veterinary surgeon at all times. AVS publishes a list of licensed centres; every clinic on this page is on the list of 24 July 2026 at the address shown.

Can I take a rabbit or a bird to these clinics? Four of the six say on their pages that they see exotic pets: Companion Animal Surgery (rodents and birds), Advanced VetCare (rabbits and birds, in emergencies too), Beecroft (an avian and exotics department) and Mount Pleasant (rabbits, birds and pocket pets). Call first to check that a vet who sees your animal is on duty.

Do I need a referral from my own vet? Not for an emergency: Beecroft and Westside both see emergency cases around the clock without an appointment. For its specialist services, Beecroft says a referral is not required but recommends one from your own vet.
